Especially the ones where you get to FINISH projects.
This project – hand blanket stitched jacket – was dead in the water because I needed a sharp needle to get through the fleece but the needle hole size didn’t allow for the thick yarn without way too much tugging and pulling.
A brief internet hunt turned up Skip Stitch – a brilliant rotary cutter blade which made the putting together of the jacket fast and fun! Thank you Skip Stitch.

Here is the second and last of this year’s batch of Christmas Stockings.
Still back and forth on what else I am going to attempt for this holiday season. So much I want to do and so little time to do.
Making up my mind and then changing it…again

The first of this year’s batch of Christmas Stockings. Knitted with Caron, Simply Soft, based on “Chubby Sock” – my all time favorite knitted stocking pattern. This one is for my Great-niece Brianna.
Next up a first go at another pattern for “Robert” a favorite family beagle. Made a good start and I am pleased so far with the result.

Found some great patterns on clothdollpatterns.com that may just want to be some more holiday gifts I hadn’t planned on in my schedule – no news there. Too cute bunnies (hand project?) and a great backpack pattern (for sure sewing machine).
But while I wait for those patterns to arrive, its time to start the watercolor of a Turkey Sandwich for my father’s Thanksgiving Cards – a deadline project so not my usual leisurely painting mode.

The creek was so high yesterday that portions of the walking path were several feet under water! Took this photo today, August 2nd. Below is a photo from last year. If they were in the creek today you might just see the adult’s hats.

Two of the 3 pieces of the quilted runner set are done. Can’t wait to finish the long piece for the wardrobe!

Also knitted a couple of kitchen wash clothes, would love to do more but its Christmas stocking time. Two to make this year.

Tatting for dress
Dress is done (two years since it was cut out)
now only have to finish the tatting (2/3 done)
Weather here is fabulous now, have a date with a chair and a book in the creek this afternoon.
Rock wall is growing.
Quilting progressing nicely on the bedroom pieces.
Got a cool stencil for a whole cloth (16″) piece with sunflowers that has me ready to go but I am forcing myself to finish other projects first. At least that is the plan so far.

rose bed 6/09
Thanks to hubby’s help and know how we have a bed of roses!
Now coaxing roses to grow in partial shade will be my challenge.
The front walk is complete. Huge help from Hubby! Thank you love.

AND we have the first layer of 100 ft of stone “wannabe” wall – goal about a foot high– optimistically.

wall wannabe
beats the gym for some serious cardio
